Directions for Care After Fluoride Varnish

2.1% sodium fluoride varnish was applied today. This treatment safely delivers fluoride and a protective coating to the tooth surfaces. To obtain the maximum benefit, please follow these recommendations:

• Do not eat, drink, brush, or rinse your mouth for 15 minutes.

For patients that wear partial dentures, retainers, or any other removable appliance: The directions for aftercare are the same as those listed above.
