Fillings and Other Operative Dentistry
The filling material is totally set when you leave the office.
Initially, avoid chewing in this area while you are still numb as to not bite your lip or tongue. After the anesthetic wears off, you can chew normally, but the area may still be bite or temperature sensitive for a couple days. If you experience this normal post operative sensitivity it should be manageable with Ibuprofen or Tylenol.
If discomfort from chewing and temperatures continues longer than 1 week, or at anytime the bite/fit does not feel right, please call out office so it can be evaluated.
